Admissions Overview
Thank you for your interest in the Austin Jewish Academy community! We are now scheduling school visits for the academic year 2011-2012, for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Students entering Kindergarten should be at least five years old by September 1, 2011.
Austin Jewish Academy also offers a Transitional Kindergarten for students who will be 4.10 years through 5.2 years by September 1, 2011. Designed for students who are in a transitional year between pre-school and kindergarten, this program aligns expectations with the skills and readiness levels of the students, with the goal being to parallel the regular kindergarten program as closely as possible.
AJA admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. School Wide Open House – Wednesday, December 14, 2011 and January 12, 2012 9:30 - 11:00am
Parents of students entering Grades TK-8 in the Fall of 2012 are invited to this School Wide Open House will include greetings from Head of School, Cheryl Hersh, and a Curriculum Overview by Principal, Jeni Tubbs as well as a Guided tour of AJA's Classrooms.
Middle School Information Night; Tuesday, November 15, 2011 7:00 - 8:15pm
Designed for parents of 4th - 7th grade students. AJA's Middle School Information Night will include a preview of academic courses and special programs offered. Speakers will include: Teachers, Administration, Current Students, Parents of Current Students and AJA Middle School Alumni
How to Apply:
1) Contact Collette Hill (512-735-8370), Director of Admissions and Outreach, to schedule a tour of the Austin Jewish Academy.
2) Attend an Open House for all Grades on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 and Thursday, January 12, 2012 9:30 - 11:00am
3) Submit Application for Admissions (including non-refundable application fee and release of records form) by Mon, January 30, 2012
4) Participate in our Kindergarten Round–Up on Thursday, February 23, 2012 (for students entering Kindergarten).
5) Participate in a full–day, school visit and assessment (for students entering grades K – 8th) during the week of February 24, 2012.
6) Once student is accepted, return tuition contract and deposit by Monday, April 2, 2012 and completed enrollment materials by Monday, April 30, 2012 (admissions decisions will be mailed the week of March 19, 2012).
