Originally from San Antonio, Janice Carlin moved to Austin in 1989 to study music education at the University of Texas. She loved Austin so much that she stayed and taught middle school band for seven years in the Pflugerville and Austin Independent School Districts. While taking time off from teaching band to raise her son, she also taught private instrumental music lessons in Round Rock ISD, and enjoyed working as a Music Therapy Assistant at The Center for Music Therapy. Mrs. Carlin earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Studies with all--level teaching certification from UT, and her Master of Music degree in Conducting Performance from SUNY at Buffalo. Mrs. Carlin's passions include children, singing, reading, nature, environmentalism, animals, nutrition, wellness, musical theater and spending time with her wonderful husband, precious son and two dogs.
