Eric Fisher has two masters degrees: one from the Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C. (Master of Music in music composition); the other from The University of Texas at Austin (Master of Architecture – First Professional Degree), where he was named a University Fellow. He has, however, always been interested in both teaching and mathematics, and has a Texas Generalist 4-8 and a Math 4-8 teaching credential. He was not only a graduate teaching assistant at UT, where he taught both history and engineering/physics sections, but has also been a lecturer at the University of New Mexico–Gallup. In 1986, while still an undergraduate student, he was made an honorary member of The Mathematical Association of America, (usually reserved for practicing professional mathematicians) for research he presented at their annual meeting. Eric is married to Dr. Monica Fisher, a pediatrician working in the Austin area. Together they have 5 children, a dog, and a cat.
