Annual Science Fair & Becker Science Center Program
Wednesday, January 27

This year, we celebrate the second year of the Becker Science Center at Austin Jewish Academy. Last fall, Becker & Associates Consulting, a prominent scientific consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., identified the Academy as its partner in creating the newest development in the Academy's core curriculum: The Becker Science Center. Please join us for our annual Science Fair and Becker Science Center Program.

SCHEDULE OF THE EVENING:
6:30pm - Science Fair Projects on Display
7:00pm - Science Fair Winners Announced
7:15pm - Mad Science program for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade

Becker Science Center Program for Middle School students and adults presented by Amir Genosar on the topic of "Vaccines: Challenge, Innovation and Complexity in the Current Environment." Genosar is a mechanical engineer trained at Israel's prestigious Technion and a disposable medical equipment inventor who, along with his then 11-year-old daughter, invented a low-cost pre-filled disposable syringe to help improve immunization safety and reduce vaccine waste in resource poor settings.

Dr. Lauren Meyers, AJA parent and expert in the field of infectious diseases, will also speak about H1N1 as part of this program.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
