In 2^nd grade the elements of Art that we learnt are“Color and Shape”. Space refers to the distance between elements that creates positive or negative spaces in a composition in an art work. We are doing a social studies/Art integration project. We looked at many Blue dogs by George Rodrigue (1944-2013)and Paul Klee’s (1879-1940) Cat. We read The Cat and the Bird by Geraldine Elschner. We have learnt to draw both blue dog and Klee’s cat. Each student will be painting a dog/cat portrait on canvas with acrylic paints.
