In 3rd grade we do many integrated art projects with the social studies and science units with common core standards. We have been focusing on painting a world globe. Each student got a large blue lantern and traced the continents onto it in the appropriate places. Once complete the students will paint the continents in a color of their choice and add a symbol that represents each continent and then the oceans around then in acrylic paints.
