Again, this year the Austin Jewish Academy is participating in the Butterfly Project, an art project commemorating the 1.5 million children killed in the Holocaust.  The sculpture students are learning how symmetry works and are producing beautiful 3D colorful butterflies with recycled materials and hygloss sheeting for this project. The butterflies will be displayed at the city-wide Yom Hashoah event on April 4 th but also they will be on exhibit at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden for the month of April.   Then, they will then be sent to the Houston Holocaust Museum to be a part of their 2013 exhibit of 1.5 million butterflies.
