Grade 3, Ms SLom

By in ,

An Art/social studies project.

After looking at artist Jason Messinger canvases we finds the exploration of the boundary between identity and abstraction, certain in its aesthetic quality, yet open in its intrinsic meaning quite fascinating and students in 3rd grade then took this idea and each student painted their land form that he/she had investigated in social studies and painted in mono-chromatic colors of their choice.

Spaghetti drawing- was a fun project in line drawing where spaghetti strips of different colored lines overlap to create a mesh of movement and color. Students enjoyed this project as it gave them lots of freedom to explore movement, depth and color in a vibrant art project.

We have started a painting project based on the artist Jasper Johns.
