Our first Chag (holiday) that we discussed was Shabbat.  We celebrate with songs and stories this weekly special event. We are practicing the Shabbat prayers that we say over the candles, wine and challah.  With Rosh Hashanah just around the corner we have been studying about apples and apple trees.  We have learned that apples have stars inside them and done some craft activities in preparation for the holiday.  We will be learning about the hardest word (sorry) and asking for forgiveness as we approach Yom Kippur.  During Tefillah (prayer) we are learning Modeh Ani, Shema and the prayer for study of Torah.  The weekly parsha is covered on a developmentally appropriate level.
