I am excited that I get to see all the students this year every week in the library (that includes the sixth and eighth grades).  We are looking at current award nominees as well as books that have received awards: Randolph Caldecott, John Newberry, Lone Star, Texas Bluebonnet, Theodore Geisel, Coretta Scott King, Pura Belpre, 2 x 2, and National Book Award.  Our first book fair through Book People will be the week of December 8th.  Never too early to mark your calendar.  I will have AJA Library Book Donation Forms available in the library, in the office and will be distributing them whenever I have a captive audience.  It is a great way to honor your child, a teacher, or a loved one.  Special attention is being given to books that are having a 50th birthday celebration this year:  Flat Stanley, The Giving Tree, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Harriet the Spy.  Oldies can still be goodies.  Happy reading!
