Mrs. Glikman - First Grade Jewish Studies

By in ,

I want to start off with a reminder that First Grade Siddur Ceremony will be here soon – Wednesday, April 6, at 8:15 a.m. in the chapel at Congregation Agudas Achim.  Come kvell as your children show off their Tefillah accomplishments. We have continued studying the Torah portion and what it means to us in modern life.  When we observed Random Acts of Kindness Week; we arrived at the conclusion that we don’t act kindly for just one week but on a day to day basis through the mitzvah of Chesed.  As I write this blog, we have already begun activities for one of the favorite Jewish holidays celebrated by children – Purim.  When else do we get to hiss and boo as well as dress up and act silly (the bulletin board outside the library has gotten into the spirit already)?  We will have an opportunity to make our own version of the Megillah and read various stories on how Purim is celebrated – yes we will talk about (and hopefully taste) some hamantaschen.  Hag Purim Sameach
