Third graders did an amazing job presenting their portfolios of learning this month. The students beamed with pride as they shared the materials from our integrated Endangered Species Learning. Clearly they had internalized their studies and the panelists learned quite a bit of information.

On Monday, third graders had a wonderful learning adventure at the Meadows Center. The students were actively engaged in many learning experiences focused on our watershed. As water stewards, our class is learning how to conserve and protect our natural resource. Here the students enjoyed a glass bottom boat tour of Spring Lake where they viewed many native species. The students were also very enthusiastic about being able to view the aquifers below.
The learning continues as we are participating in an environmental science study with Keep Austin Beautiful. Here the students are estimating the amount of time it takes for certain trash materials to breakdown.
I count my “small but mighty class” as a true blessing. Their ability to take in the information and apply their knowledge is dazzling! Happy Hanukkah! Love, Ilene
