Our school year is off to a fantastic start, and it is hard to believe that we are already halfway into our second week! The 1-B Starfish are having fun while building classroom community, learning and practicing our class procedures and routines, learning about AJA Pride, and beginning our studies.

In Math, we are practicing writing our numbers, learning about tally marks, and counting by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s. In Language Arts, we are working on writing our upper and lower case letters and practicing letter/sound correspondence.  We have started responding to questions and sharing our preferences in our writing journals, and love adding illustrations! We are excited to take our first nature walk to collect specimens for making observations in our science journals. To begin Social Studies this year, we are learning about each other and sharing experiences that make each of us unique members of our classroom community.
