Q: What is the Inspire Annual Campaign?
A: The Inspire Annual Campaign is an appeal for donations to support the current operations of the school. The Campaign for this fiscal year began August 1, 2018 and will end July 31, 2019.
Q: Why do I need to donate to the Annual Campaign when I already pay tuition?
A: Tuition does not cover the actual cost of educating each child. The average percentage of the budget covered by tuition is 80%. Federation support provides approximately 5% of the funds needed to educate each child. Without taking tuition assistance into consideration, this leaves a 15% gap to be covered through fundraising efforts. In addition, AJA gives approximately 37% of tuition assistance to students who could not otherwise attend. This level of tuition assistance increases the gap to be covered through fundraising efforts to 20%.
Q: How much should I give?
A: We ask each person to participate at a level appropriate for his or her circumstances. Every gift, no matter what amount has a direct impact on the educational experience of each of our students; it is also a way for you to say you believe in what we are doing.

Live from AJA… It’s Saturday Night! Austin Jewish Academy hosted its SNL event at the Westin Austin at the Domain on February 25, 2017. Event guests dressed as their favorite Saturday Night Live characters and celebrities. Coach Anna Bull was our teacher honoree, and we awarded Liz Hendler and Nathalie Miller the Mesirut recognition for their unending support as volunteers, parents, and ambassadors of AJA. Thank you to all of our supporters, our committee, and our co-chairs Noa and Eddy Levy and Jyll and Jim Vertuno.
Parenting Institute events are a great way to join as a community and learn together.
AJA and Shalom Austin presented the First Annual Daughter Dance on Sunday May 3, 2015. Proceeds went toward building tomorrow’s leaders by underwriting programs at AJA such as ADL’s “No Place For Hate”, the National Junior Honors Society, and a year-long middle school course on Jewish Philanthropy. Look out for this year’s date, to be announced soon.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know other parents while helping our school. Join a committee, work at an event, share new ideas or assist our teachers as a room parent.
